Blaupunkt Coding Procedure
These units have programmable codes,
and an optional 12 digit Personal Identification Number (PIN)
Many Blaupunkt radios were equipped with an electronic Anti-Theft system that would render the unit inoperable unless a four digit code was entered. The procedure for entering this code is as
follows. The example will use the code "2132". This is only an example of the possible codes, and in no way should be considered a "skeleton key" type of code. The animation that
illustrates the process may not look like your unit, however the buttons to push and the display readout will be the same (unless noted later in this example).
- Turn on the unit while holding preset #1 and #3. "CodE" will start flashing in the display. If "0000" is displayed, the radio is indicating it is ready to have your own
personal code entered (see below).
- Press preset #1 two times. Each time (the animation shows #1 highlighted in cyan) the button is pushed the display will go to the next higher number. Press preset #2 once (highlighted in cyan).
Continue with preset #3, three times, and preset #4, twice. The display will now show "2132".
- To lock in the code and activate the radio, press the seek down button and then the seek up button (as shown in red). Your unit will now operate normally, until the next time the constant power
supply is interrupted, or display "Id".
- If you decided to use an optional PIN number, the display will now show "Id". This indicates that the unit is waiting for you to enter your 12 digit PIN number. Follow steps #2 and #3
to enter the 12 digit number, but after entering 4 digits, press the seek down rocker switch only. After the last digit (number 12) is entered, press the seek up rocker button. This will enter your
PIN number and activate the radio.
If you have not entered the correct code, or it was done incorrectly, then the unit
will display "----" for 10 seconds. You will then be able to try again but after four attempts the radio will shut down for 20 minutes. Wait for the required time interval (the unit must be
left on during this period), and then you can repeat the procedure. You have a total of 16 attempts before the radio shuts down permanently and must be reset at an Authorized Blaupunkt Service
Center.
If your unit displays "0000", it has lost your personal code, or one has never been set. Enter a code that you will remember using steps #2 and #3. This will enter your personal code. From
then on "CodE" should be displayed as described in step one. Make sure you write down your code somewhere safe, but easy to find. If you forget the code, there will be no other recourse but
to send the unit in for resetting at an Authorized Blaupunkt Service Center.
