The New BP-1 CD Drive

Not only have the electronics been revolutionized, but the mechanics have been subjected to a complete overhaul as well. An entirely new CD drive is now being used at Blaupunkt, developed by Blaupunkt and manufactured in Europe. The results: a noticeable Mounting Angles

increase in performance in virtually every respect. It starts with the installation angle which can vary between -10° and a sensational 105° without compromising the equipment's resistance to vibration. This has been made possible by the patented "Double-V suspension system", which works completely independently of the mounting position with drive springs which are arranged in a double-V.

A new pickup unit using holographic laser optics makes sure that the CD tuners stay on the right track, even in the event of strong vibrations or scratched CDs. You will enjoy them for many years to come as well. The holographic laser is able to do without a sensitive lens system which can become maladjusted over the course of time. Speed is everything; and that applies to the CD tuner as well. Rapid track change, drastically reduced starting times when the system switches to the CD source and a gentle insert and eject system for the CDs round out the positive properties exhibited by this new drive. It is also worth mentioning that the audio data are forwarded to the tone control and equalizer digitally, ruling out any signal losses!
