 The HUSH® acoustically correct, pro-audio noise reduction system from Rocktron Corporation has been included in all Becker Energy
amplifiers. Originally developed for pro audio use,
the HUSH® noise reduction system is capable of reducing noise from all audio sources, AM, FM, tape, and even background noise on analog recorded CD's. HUSH® will
also reduce noise that plagues car audio systems, such as alternator whine and noise from automobile computers. The HUSH® feature comes with a variable threshold level that can be
fine-tuned at any time with the optional remote control.
Instead of opening and closing the signal path, HUSH® processes the signal via a downward expander which pushes down the amplitude of the lower music signals and the background noises with it, The gain is pushed so low that the processed noise eventually drops below the noise floor of the amplifier and is snuffed out, This process effectively mutes the signal path. The ability to transition smoothly throughout these gain changes results from a circuit that tracks in the side-chain circuit for HUSH®. Program dependent response allows for automatic attack and release times for the internal voltage controlled amplifiers to operate, thus avoiding a typical forced compromise with a "fast attack/slow decay" found with most noise gates.
